A series of four mosaics based on children’s drawings in memory of the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire 14th June 2017
Avondale Park Primary School lost two families in the Grenfell Tower Fire, including six children and one staff member.
The first mosaic (1900 x 1200 cm) shows the tower nestling amongst 19thcentury houses, Westway and other local landmarks of W11.
The 2nd and 3rd mosaics (1940 x 1200 and 1930 x 1200cm) depict the Choucair and Hashim families and the 4th mosaic is a garden of hope and remembrance (1740 x 1200cm) designed by Year 2 children in memory of Yaqub their much loved classmate.
This was a whole school project lasting 8 months and included every child in the school. Staff, parents and Governors were also involved.
